Violin lessons are taught using a variety of curriculum, including the Suzuki method, which emphasizes good tone by first listening and then imitating.
Just like children learn a language by listening to their parents speak.
Students are inspired to practice as they get to know each other throughout the year in musicianship classes. There is also the opportunity to perform together in ensembles.
Violin students will need to rent or purchase a violin for lessons. Often young students will rent a partial sized violin until they grow into a full sized instrument. A parent should attend lessons with their young student so they can practice together at home.
“My son has taken violin lessons from Anna for about 2 1/2 years. I love the Suzuki method approach (great ear and technique training for a young child). She is very patient and does a great job of keeping him engaged in the lesson time. My son enjoys her teaching and especially loves the monthly group lesson.”
