  • The first step is to schedule a 30 minute introductory lesson. This lesson will start with some basic music concepts and then students will learn a couple of songs. If you’ve taken lessons previously, bring the music you have played most recently. This lesson is also an opportunity to see the studio, make sure it’s a good fit for you, discuss your goals and go over any other questions you might have regarding lessons.

  • Yes, a full sized keyboard with weighted keys or an acoustic piano is required for practice at home. Violin students usually rent a partial sized instrument until they reach full size.

  • Regular practice is an important part of making steady progress. There are no set practice requirements, but clear guidelines are given based on the student’s musical goals.

  • Students may start lessons at age 5 or 6, depending on level of interest and attention span. Parents should attend lessons with students age 6 and younger, to assist in practice at home.

 
  • Yes, students age 6 and younger should attend lessons with a parent to assist in practice at home.

  • Lessons are in English.

  • Lessons are weekly, 45 minutes long. There are 40 lessons per calendar year, divided into two semesters.

  • Lessons are billed by the semester, due August 1st and February 1st: CHF 1200 or quarterly CHF 600

    Tuition includes 40 teaching weeks in the calendar year, music, studio library usage, studio materials, and recitals.

 
 
  • Students are encouraged to perform in recitals and student performance classes throughout the year

  • No refunds or make up lessons will be granted for missed lessons. Please notify the instructor through the student portal online or send a text. Students may send an audio or video recording to the instructor for feedback. Lessons may also be taught online in case of sickness or inclement weather.

    Students that are sick should not attend lessons. The instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson if the student appears to be too ill to be taught.

  • Please follow cantonal Covid guidelines. Ventilation and standard cleaning procedures are followed to minimize risk of infection.

  • The studio is located in Rütihof. The bus stop is Rütihof Bohnacker. Bus No 6 comes from Baden, and 362 comes from Mellingen Heitersberg. There’s a parking lot available in front of the house.

  • Written notice of withdrawal from lessons is required.
